Andy Hayes – Farnborough

Why should installers train with us?

Everyone in the training team is passionate to help you gain product knowledge and confidence to fully understand the Vaillant portfolio, be it in the boiler, digital controls or renewable technologies.

What is your favourite course to teach?

aroTHERM plus installation and commissioning - it's rewarding to see installers grow in confidence and leave ready to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable systems.

What’s your favourite thing about training in Farnborough?

The Farnborough CoE is in a prime location, overlooking the runway of Farnborough airport. The proximity to the airport gives a striking backdrop symbolising the safety, precision and engineering standards we strive for whilst creating a memorable environment for training.

What’s your favourite product and why?

The aroTHERM plus - the installation process is both technical and rewarding and it represents the future of heating.

How did you get into the industry?

As many others in training, I started my career as an apprentice. I joined Vaillant as a line manager for the training team in 2017, as I wanted to work for a leading manufacturer of renewable technologies.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to anyone attending a training day?

Training is an interactive experience. Learn from the trainer and the attendees around you. Take notes - it cannot be overemphasised how important this. Ask lots of questions to reinforce your learning. Be open to learning new concepts around connectivity, low temperature heating and what that means for your business, and your customer.
