Pathway 1: MCS

The length of time it takes to complete Aspire can vary depending on the qualifications you already have. As you may already have work planned for weeks or even months in advance, the time commitment required will depend on your availability. We understand your time is valuable and we strive to make the process as efficient as possible.

Throughout the Aspire journey, the Vaillant Training Team is available to provide assistance and guidance as needed. After completing the training, our System, Sales and Design team can help with the measurement and design of your project. Once your appliance is installed, our Service Team is available to provide technical support.

If applied for the MCS and NAPIT certification, any administration of the certification will be sent directly to you. If you need any help with this or are unsure on what you need to do, then the Training Team can help point you in the right direction.

No, application to the full MCS and NAPIT certification can be done at any time. However, when submitting your application or booking any regulated courses through Vaillant, payments will be required. These fees are offered at a significant discount to help reduce costs.

Yes, we offer the regulated courses at our Vaillant Training Centres. However, we understand that you may opt for another third-party training centre. As long as you are working towards the qualifications and hold them at the time of your assessment, you are free to choose any training centre.

Please note that guaranteed training on Vaillant products is only available at a Vaillant Training Centre.

The pre-assessment helps us determine your current skill level, which enables our training team to place you on the appropriate learning path. Our goal is to ensure that you receive training on only what you need and invest your time in the areas that will help you achieve the required level of proficiency.

To qualify you need to be a Gas Safe registered heating engineer. We have a set of guideline qualifications that we will ask you to provide – this is determined by the minimum technical competencies that sit with MCS. If you don’t hold some of the qualifications, you can attain them alongside your Aspire Training.

Vaillant Aspire offers a blend of online learning, via the Vaillant Academy and practical training at one of our six Centres of Excellence, but you can also choose to complete any of the regulated courses elsewhere.

By completing the Aspire journey, you’ll be eligible to join NAPIT who will provide a membership package combining MCS certification with registration on their Competent Persons Scheme, allowing self-certification of heat pump work under current building regulations. Alongside any additional qualifications you have gained throughout your Aspire journey.

After the course, you will be competent to install and maintain Vaillant air source heat pumps. You may choose to complete other Vaillant product training if you wish.

Yes, you can join and complete our Aspire programme as a sole trader.

Unfortunately, Vaillant only provides training for air source heat pumps at present.
