The aroTHERM plus is our flagship air source heat pump range, available in a wide range of heat output sizes for many types of property with 3.5, 5, 7, 10 and 12kW models available. Using R290 refrigerant, the aroTHERM plus has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 3. This refrigerant is already used in household appliances all over the world and offers many advantages over refrigerants traditionally used in heat pumps. Coupled with market leading technical features that improve efficiency and deliver higher flow temperatures, the aroTHERM plus is perfect for new and existing heating systems (including hybrid). All aroTHERM heat pumps are impressively quiet in operation and has been certified by Quiet Mark, making them suitable for use even in densely built-up terraced housing estates.

aroTHERM plus air-to-water heat pump

Discover Vaillant’s aroTHERM plus air source heat pump system. The aroTHERM plus uses the natural refrigerant, R290 to achieve higher flow temperatures of up to 75°C. Suitable for all applications, this air source heat pump can use existing radiators and operates down to -25°C.The aroTHERM plus provides a powerful yet efficient heating and hot water system that is suitable for many types of properties. Depending on the customer's requirements, there is a selection of indoor units available.If your customer has a high hot water demand, the aroTHERM plus can be used together with a wall-mounted hydraulic station and a wide range of accessories. This includes the uniSTOR plus and pure high recovery cylinders and buffer tanks.

Super silent operation

The aroTHERM plus Sound Safe System ensures that it is hardly audible during operation. With sound power as low as 48dB(A), the aroTHERM plus 3.5 kW, 5kW, 7kW and 12kW outputs have been accredited with the Quiet Mark. The system can be placed close to a residential building, even in densely built-up areas.

High performance - for you and your customers

The aroTHERM plus has a particularly high flow temperature of up to 75 °C because it uses a natural refrigerant, R290. In this way, the air-to–water heat pump can also be operated with existing radiators. Moreover, the refrigerant technology has a very low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 0.02. With its high efficiency, the aroTHERM plus also meets future requirements for new builds.

Siting considerations

Considerations need to be made for the location and climate of the installation. Defrost cycles can be triggered by colder temperatures and areas with high humidity levels. It is the responsibility of the Installer to ensure adequate provision has been accounted for defrost cycles, considering the local climate conditions, geography of the installation and siting location. 12-15% drop in output during design conditions should be suitable for most parts of the UK.
